I thought I would start a page dedicated just to our lovely ones across the pond!!! Hopefully we can get this filled with alll sorts of lovley pics and stories.

Me and what I believe...

I am a daughter, a sister, a friend, a wife, a mother and a member of the Church or Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

I was raised to hold and value the beliefs I have and from a very young age knew that there was indeed a God in Heaven, who loved His children and willingly showed them so.

I was born into the world on the living room floor and with a serious heart defect-which in essence means that my heart works backwards-the smaller pump(s) doing the leg work, and the greater pumps having a good olde holiday! Having undergone major surgery at One, to try to rectify the size difference, I grew and functioned as normally as my body would allow. By aged Six however, the tissues they had added had become an obstruction. I underwent another major operation in which the doctors added a piece of material to perform the same function as the previous cows tissue.

During this operation however, my body didn't want to respond as well as when I was One. The surgeons and doctors had done all they could and could see no sign of improvment. They told my parents one of the worst things any parent could hear; 'I'm sorry, but i'm afraid there is nothing more we can do.'

I am ever grateful for the faith of my mother. Who, i'm sure through much heart ache and sorrow, took herself off into a quiet spot in the hospital and pleaded to God for relief on my behalf. 'Either let her live Father or please take her home, as I can't bear to watch her suffer anymore.'

He heard that prayer. He answered that plea. Through the ministering of a Priesthood blessing and the faith of a loving Mother I live to tell of my life. Within a few days I returned to the children's ward and was up out of my bed. The doctors and nurses were astonished. I should have slipped away, but there I was awake, happy, walking around.

This happened almost 30 years ago now, and since then I have continued to feel the hand of the Lord in the my life... and I know that I always will.
